I just started using Mac and would really like to get in depth detail about OS X. I tried disabling the desktop functionality — disabling the dock and other features as right click context menu on desktop etc. In Windows, we can edit the Registry or can kill explorer.exe so as to kill the desktop environment. First, click the 'Macintosh HD' icon on your desktop. A new window will appear. This is called a Finder window. The Finder window allows you to explore the contents of your hard drive.
